Happiness Not A Cliche

Happiness is a state of mind.Happiness is an innate feeling of joy.We smile,we laugh, we even cry when we are happy.Happiness is not dependent on someone.Happiness is self created. We say loving relationships keep us happy.Yes it is true.We are humans. It is natural for us to express love or want to be loved. But in this superficial world is it easy to connect with each and every one or find a true loved one.Unconditional love gives us happiness. When we love and just love someone knowing the darkest side.A trusting relationship gives us happiness.

Undoubtedly in this hi tech, fast pace world relationships are based on selfish terms. This is a give and take world. Moreover relationships are measured in terms of status, money, power, position.Nowdays fame gives people happiness.People get elated when shown on a media. It is a all hype and hypocrisy.

Happiness is indeed a choice.I get immense happiness going to orphnages. It my sound weird as we go by the sterotyped  concept of happiness.

So the big question arises are we really happy? If Yes is the answer then why do we have to talk about happiness. Why do we need to hold seminars and workshops and search formulaes to  be happy. We as humans are endowded to be happy.

With the advancement of technology, better health care facilities, access to latest gadgets, modernisation we are much better off.Still there is some emptiness which deprives the feeling of euphoria.

Stay in palatial houses, going to lavish tours or living in exorbitant hotels is the ultimate goal to reach happiness or a marriage a passport to happiness. If so, why so many spiritual gurus giving lessons of life or the art of living.Money is related to happiness. But if we have less cant we be happy?

Going for a morning walk, flying a kite,or giving left over food to a  stray dog can give happiness. So happiness is intrinsic.Happiness can be derived accomplishing a challenging task.It can be achieved by helping someone to get out of a difficult situation.Happiness is realized when we get personal respect or recognition or appreciation of our good work.We don’t have to invest anything to get happiness.Happiness can also not achieved be achieved by reading books. We have to become more empathetic towards the pains and sorrows of others. This will make us a better person or rather a happier person

So, why wait to go to a happiness expert. It is in your hands. You have never discovered it.The endorpins, dopomine, serotnin and oxyotocin all happy hormones are in your body you should learn to release it.

Diwali Festival Of Lights

Oh! Its Diwali again. When we think of Diwali our heart is filled with joy.Diwali the sacred festival reminds us of diyas, rangoli, home made sweets, crackers.Diwali the festival is to rejoice, laugh and be happy about. Moreover Diwali to worship the Goddess of prosperity Laxmi.

Over the days we have lost the real meaning of the festival. It is now more a pomp and show.Big showrooms offering discounts on the expensive jwellery. Markets flooded with consumer goods luring the customers with offers.Newspapers depicting fashion models showing designer outfits.Sweet business flourishing at its peak during Diwali. In the evening restaurants are very busy with people prefering to eat the cuisine by the hotel chef rather than inviting families cooking at home. There are exotic firecrackers which were more of fun the good old days now they cause more of pollution.Above all we live in a materialistic society and all this extravaganza is the major attraction of the festival.

But as the mythological story goes Ram after killing the demon Ravan returned to Ayodhya rescuing his wife Sita. So it was the victory of good over evil Ram stood in the face of truth.so this festival sends us the message to destroy the evil.Evil in the form of false pride, malice, hatred, jealousy. Its  time to spread goodness.Goodness by means of good deeds.Raising a voice against injustice.Helping someone in need.Kindle hope in the heart of a broken.

We worship the goddess of wealth on Diwali. Laxmi sits on the lotus.Lotus which signifies peace and purity.Lotus which lives in the mud yet retains its beauty and grace. So we must pray for peace on this Diwali. We must be pure in our heart and mind and try to cultivate inner beauty.Inner beauty is beauty of soul.A good soul will be one who will bring smile to someone on this Diwali, who will hug a friend or inspire someone. In fulfilling our materlistic pursuits we forget our loved ones.So on this Diwali spend time with your loved ones.

Diwali gives us the message “Tamsoma Jyotirgamaya” i.e. from darkness to light. So this Diwali remove the darkness. Darkness of ignorance.Lets usher with knowledge and new beginning.

Diwali is the beginning of new year. So on this new year Lets take a pledge to discipline our lives. Lets take a pledge to  progress in life.Lets take a pledge to start a new mission.

Make your Diwali worthwhile.
